Swede, Carl Kleiner, has created an extraordinary catalogue for Discipline, a new Italian design house available for the first time in Australia through Stylecraft.
July 17th, 2013
Discipline burst onto the design scene during the 2012 Salone del Mobile in Milan. A brave move given the economic climate at the time but if the breadth of their 2013 catalogue and stable of pan-European creatives is anything to go by, we’ll be seeing plenty more from this forward-thinking collective for years to come.
Calling on the unparalleled talents of Kleiner, who has previously worked for the likes of Sony, Wallpaper, Ikea and Flos, Discipline presents a range of products from seating and storage solutions through to decorative ornaments and tables that draw on the creative minds of Mario Bellini, Nendo, Max Lamb, Smith Matthias, Luca Nichetto and many more.
Underpinning all the products on offer is the philosophy that each item must be designed “consciously” with a sensitive approach to nature and the materials it affords us, all the while retaining a healthy dose of fun.
The photography by Kleiner proves a smart paring with this brand – the simplicity of the collection is enhanced by the artist’s minimalist approach to styling, concentrating on the elemental charm in each piece.
