Dutch manufacturer, Casala, teamed up with an inventor to produce a user-friendly solution to the stackable chair.
Linking functionality to design has long been the cornerstone of 90-year-old project furniture manufacturer, Casala.

Specialising in furniture for conference centres, offices and restaurants, Casala is responsible for iconic pieces such as the ‘Curvy’ chair and ‘Feniks’. They also recently received a prestigious Red Dot award for their ‘Lynx’ chair, which they’ve just launched – in person – in Australia.
“Casala wanted to develop a chair which was able to be linked or connected together in a very short amount of time,” explains Casala export manager, Frank van der Winkel.
“We asked an inventor to invent the linking system and then we brought the designers in to design the chair around the linking concept.”

The result is not a chair with a linking system, but a chair which is the linking system. In effect, one chair integrates (or links) into the next, into the next.
“’Lynx’ has been two-and-a-half years in the making,” says van der Winkel. “And we can connect over 1,500 chairs between two people in an hour.”

“To our knowledge, it is currently the quickest linkable chair in the world.”
The ‘Lynx’, along with other Casala products, is available nationwide through UCI.
