What does your company supply?

There are two complementary sides to my business.

One is a design service for furniture and product manufacturers. This includes collaboration with the client and concept formation with progress support to manufacture.

The other side of the company produces finished product, ranging from one-off pieces for architecture specific spaces to established design ranges in the market.  

What is the history of your company?

The studio was established in 2000 after combined studies in product design and sculpture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

The company has naturally evolved from family manufacturing businesses started in 1932 and I believe these prior experiences have been critical in bridging the current cultures of idea and industry.

Who do you design for and where do you distribute?

I am currently designing to briefs for international and local Australian companies.

Our own designed and manufactured products sell Australia wide and New Zealand through some great distribution partners.

Selected designs have been specified internationally including Microsoft offices in Hong Kong and The Denver Art Museum.

Describe your designs?

Inventive products developed to exhibit clear design communication that will have long term appeal and function.

Tailored designs with dedication to quality, clever engineering and character.

What are your client’s priorities at the moment?

Originality, functionality, versatility and environmental care. I aim to create clients with timeless objects designed to have a long life and independent of passing trends.

What is good design to you?

That magic balance between concept, engineering, sculpture and market requirements.

Tell us about your current projects?

It has been a very busy last few years with a number of international projects in the pipeline and new furniture designs being finally launched to market:

The unique ‘Bombala’ seating range including lounge chair, ottoman and stacking table chair

X-Twin series, which is an extension of the single column X tables

New upholstery ranges including ‘Geode’, ‘Connected’ and ‘Quoin’

An armchair design with very high greenstar rating

Solid timber furniture designs including the ‘Terra Firma’ table that borrows from bridge engineering and incorporates specialist fixings for flat pack assembly

What does the future hold?

I’ve always looked forward to being there.
