Inspired by the seasonal pilgrimage of French and American creatives of the 1920s, the Seaworthy Collection embodies patterns drawn from Sibella Court’s textile and object library that evoke the textures, charms and tales of sunny, leisurely expeditions to the Côte d’Azur. Featuring 13 exceptional designs, this new series features carefully selected colours, textures and patterns that imbue spaces with a sense of whimsy and wistful nostalgia.

With a history degree and 25 years of industry experience, Sibella Court brings with her a bag of hard-won magic tricks that she weaves into her role as an interior designer, product designer, author, globetrotter content creator, and now one of Materialised’s premier designers. Sibella has also hosted the popular ABC TV program Restoration Australia, showcasing her passion for Australian architectural history.

As reflected in the Seaworthy Collection’s evocative inspirations, Sibella’s style is informed by her love of history, storytelling and working with old trades. Whether it be imaginings of afternoons with Picasso at Antibes or joy rides along sun-soaked country roads, the colours, textures and patterns featured in this new collection encapsulate the stories, characters and sensory delights of yesteryear, all reimagined for modern interiors.

Vintage espadrille fabric, woven rattan baskets, well-loved bistro seats, and petite repeat patterns of anchors and boats reminiscent of scarves for taming windswept hair are used as references to create a versatile series of designs that puts a summer twist on Sibella’s signature aesthetic.

Not only is the Seaworthy Collection characterised by its timeless look and feel, but it is also available on textiles and coverings that are made to last. Owned and run by the founding Price family, Materialised offers furnishing textiles and wall coverings across multiple industries, particularly projects requiring high performance. Flame retardancy, high abrasion resistance and acoustic absorption are among some of the key features offered by Materialised’s product range.
