Meet the Boys Behind Castor

One is an architectural stone carver, the other boasts a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Together they are bringing plenty of edge to the design world

Made up of Brian Richer and Ryan Taylor, the design statement of this duo reads: "above and beyond plebeian comfort objections the structural dynamic analysis must utilize and be functionally interwoven with the philosophy of commonality and standardization.”

This sums Castor up to a tee – clever tongue-in-cheek.

Based in Canada, this progressive design team are challenging the traditional purist approach to design with their edgy work and jovial attitudes – and they have some serious talent to back them up.

Brian trained as an architectural stone carver and Ryan has been engaged in new media since completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Victoria.

Castor’s work can been seen in publications such as World of Interiors, Plan, Dwell, Azure and Canadian Interiors. Their combined capabilities range from stone carving, woodworking and welding to product and graphic design.
