As polytec’s Design Awards 2017 visited Melbourne, those present were able to see some of the greatest Residential, Commercial and Retail/Hospitality projects awarded yet!
After Queensland and Tasmania’s showcasing of great design, Victoria was up next – and the suite of entrants was some of the best yet, making awarding the gold to only three projects was tougher than ever.
Taking home gold in this year’s Residential category was Ruffey Lake House, by Inbetween Architecture. Their use of Melamine Natural Oak Matt, Graphite Matt and Polar White Matt created a seamless connection between kitchen, dining and living spaces whilst maintaining an open and light atmosphere.
The Melbourne polytec Design Awards 2017 winner for Commercial & Healthcare is Siren Design, for their Upwell Health Collective project. Completed in March 2017, the Upwell Health Collective reception refurbishment uses Soft Walnut Ravine in a beautifully unique design.
Winning Best Retail & Hospitality space in this year’s Melbourne Design Awards is CoLAB Design Studio in their project, Own World furniture studio. The furniture showroom displays Melamine panels in Soft Walnut Ravine and Matt, mimicking the realism of timber to create a warm, open space. polytec Thermolaminated doors and panels have also been utilised in this project to great impact, with panel profiles in Calcutta Cinder creating beautiful directional lines in a modern contemporary style.
Overall, the Victorian awards were another success, showcasing the greatness in contemporary design, and the versatility of the polytec range.
