The Design Accent

A designer guide to Sydney and Melbourne compiled by 6 Australian bloggers is now online, thanks to the team at Hyundai and the new Accent.
Late last year, the team at Hyundai invited Indesignlive to take part in a day of design inspiration, where we zipped around Sydney in the new Hyundai Accent visiting some of our favourite design locations.

Cramming as much as we could into one action-packed day, we visited jewellery store Courtesy of the Artist (COTA) in the Strand Arcade, before heading to Surry Hills to check out emerging Australian industrial design at Workshopped and an exhibition at Object Gallery (as well as a stopover in the Object Gallery shop…) Finally we headed to the Space Furniture showroom in Alexandria where we explored level after level of beautiful furniture and homewares.

We weren’t the only ones taking part in the experience – Hyundai also invited 5 other blogs in the fields of food, architecture, fashion and design to highlight their favourite spots around Sydney and Melbourne. Landmark buildings, markets, stores, galleries and cafés – between the 6 of us, we came up with one hell of a list!
All of this has now been compiled into a handy online go-to guide – and we’re excited to be sharing it with you!
Click here to check out Design Destinations: Inspired by Hyundai. Days and kilometres in the making, it brings together some favourite design-related hotspots from people who know where to look for fun and inspiration.
To coincide with the launch of the online guide, Hyundai is also giving one lucky reader the chance to win $5000 to help achieve their ultimate design dream.
Is there a course you need to do? Equipment you can’t get your hands on? Or just a beautiful classic piece of design that you want to be able to look at and experience every day for the rest of your life?
All you need to do is head to the Hyundai Accent Facebook page and ’like’ them. While you’re there, check out the design features of the Hyundai Accent.
To enter the competition, you’ll need to let us know two things. One – which features of the new Hyundai Accent do you like best? And two – tell us in 100 words or less what you need to make your design dreams come true.
You can submit your entry via the Comments section below this post (make sure to include your full name and email address) or by emailing editor@indesignlive.com by 10 April.
Terms and Conditions of the comp can be found here. Good luck!
