Reusing Industrial Heritage

How to make better use of Victoria’s rich industrial heritage? This Seminar at Melbourne University explores the options and the answers.

Melbourne School of Design and the Heritage Council Victoria will host an afternoon of discussion and debate around the adaptive reuse of our industrial heritage considering questions like;

  • What are the opportunities in our industrial heritage?
  • How can reusing these fascinating places and spaces help to reinvigorate our cities, towns and landscapes?
  • What roles might they play in twenty-first century Victoria?

This event launches and celebrates 12 case studies and an issues paper prepared by the Heritage Council to inspire better use of the state’s rich industrial heritage.

The seminar will consist of two panel discussions, one looking at new uses and users and the other exploring urban opportunities and challenges – 3PM at The Open Stage
