Re-Shaping floor design
Published

No longer bound by 4 set sides, the humble carpet tile has been revolutionised with the introduction of the Shapes collection from Signature Floorconcepts.
Shape and repetitive form are a constant occurrence in the world around us, throughout history we’ve taken inspiration from nature and common objects, and used this fundamental design element in all aspects of past and present design & architecture.
Some of the most influential design movements of our time such as Streamline Moderne, Expressionist, Modernist and Deconstructivism use Shape as their formative foundations. Signature Floorconcepts’ newest collection explores and furthers this geometric purity, allowing specifiers across Australia an alternative to traditional carpet tile constraints.
Signature Floorconcepts are the first in the world to offer six off-the-shelf stocked modular carpet shapes that tessellate with each other, allowing a ‘mix and match’ effect across the whole collection.
“With a gap in the Australian market, we seized this opportunity to allow design to come from totally new perspectives without compromise on quality.” said Richard Braic, Commercial General Manager of Signature Floorconcepts.
Six Shapes consisting of Triangle, Rightangle, Rectangle, Hexagon, Square and Trapezoid with a total of 127 stocked colour references have inspired our design community to further enhance their creative potential and discover infinitely possible floor designs.
“We listened to designers and found there was often a battle between creativity and efficiency when it came to intricate modular floor design. We took note and developed ways to alleviate the struggle, making it more accessible and of course less time consuming” Mr Braic said of their Shapes by Signature Design Hub web app. The web app gives three distinct options, dependent on your project and time constraints; these range from designing your own inspired creations using an AutoCAD Toolkit, to a set and specified option finalised within in a matter of minutes!
Thinking outside the box quite literally, Shapes can be used in large and small-scale projects alike. Make it the full floor effect, or a focal feature – it’s up to you!
