Pelota by Marcello Ziliani

Pelota, the new range of chairs by Marcello Ziliani, is textured by intersecting metal lines

Named after the Spanish word for ball, Pelota is the playful new range of metal chairs by Marcello Ziliani for Casprini (Italy).

The iconic imagery of this range is given by the intersecting lines in the seat. Made of die cast aluminium, the irregular texture comes together to form the image of a ball.

These intersecting lines also work to create a seat that is round and spacious, with light-hearted curves and small, wing-like armrests.

Visually kinetic, these seats perch on a chromed or painted steel frame, and can be equipped with a cushion that covers the inner part entirely.

This can be an adjustable bar stool with optional armrests, a stackable four leg, or the unstackable but ultra swish cone-shaped tube legs.

Pelota, stylish and playful, with clean lines and the option to be upholstered, brings people together at work and at play, in public spaces or in the home, in the same way as the iconic ball from which it takes its visual cue.
