The DQ blog is launched (into cyberspace)

The new DQ blog serves up plenty of design-related sustenance to keep you nourished between issues.
Launched in tandem with Design Quarterly’s (DQ) October issue this year, the DQ blog is the magazine’s new online alter ego.
With DQ magazine having undergone a facelift (under the art directorship of studio one8one7 with DQ’s in-house designers), the website reflects the magazine’s new look and growth as a publication in general.
While DQ editor Alice Blackwood hopes the website will spread the DQ word in a more viral fashion, it will continue to engage its loyal quarterly audience – but now on a day-to-day basis.
“Because we so often can’t include all the amazing information and images that are supplied to us, the website captures and shares those extra morsels,” explains Blackwood.
What distinguishes the DQ website from other design blogs vying for attention is its familiar persona (being an online extension of the magazine), as well as its privileged access to media material.
“We’ve got lots of beautiful images posted up, and we take many of our stories further with quick one-on-one Q&As with designers, or sharing a side-story which we weren’t able to include in the magazine,” says Blackwood.
