MELBOURNE until June 27: Turning the spotlight on the burgeoning career paths of seven graduate designers, ’Do Not Crop’ highlights the variations in the work of graduates across all the design disciplines.
Meet recent design graduates at the National Design Centre’s annual graduate exhibition, ’Do Not Crop.’
This free graduate exhibition, now open at The ShowBox, reveals projects from seven fresh promising young design stars, and focuses on the directions their careers have taken since completing their studies.
This year’s crop features:
- Melbourne fashion designer, Mel Bower and her home studio.
- Landscape designer, Thomas Harper who moved across continents to join a Netherlands firm.
- Industrial designer, Ben Maxwell, whose design studio, Bamakko, is based in North Melbourne.
- Graphic designer, Sam Moffat, who works for a small graphic design firm and is co-designer of art review magazine, Un-Magazine.
- Interior designer, Rosie Scott, who works for a large local design firm. (pictured above)
- Landscape designer, Victoria Smith, who has found a place for her skills in government projects; and
- Architect, Suzannah Waldron, who enjoys a nomadic career filled with international projects.
Design industry, design graduates and potential design students will find this personal and informative exhibition equally fascinating. On until June 27 at the National Design Centre.
