Blok Spans the Outdoor Gap

Blok Furniture takes good design to the great outdoors with the new Span range.
Interior designers, architects and commercial specifiers are often faced with the problem of sourcing well-designed outdoor furniture to suit the Australian market.
Whilst European designers may produce an array of elegant outdoor designs for the moderate European summers, little consideration is made of the strength of Australia’s UV rays and its fiercer weather conditions.
In response to this gap in the market, Blok Furniture launched Blokout – a selection of all-weather products designed and manufactured in Australia to suit the Australian climate.
Blokout now includes the new Span range, which complements the popular Sola and Sunni products.
Conceived by furniture designer Kylie Bickle, Span started as a limited release of bar stools and stacking benches supplied to a small number of cafes, restaurants and public breakout spaces in Queensland and NSW. The collection has recently expanded to include bar tables
and dining chairs.
“I have always been interested in supporting other Australian designers and incorporating their products into the Blok brand. It helps create diversity and new directions within our range,” said Richard Park of Blok Furniture.
Span pieces are crafted from stainless steel and Australian plantation hardwood.
Span can be cleaned, re-finished and returned to almost brand-new condition, increasing the longevity of the product, all the while using sustainable materials that can be easily dismantled and recycled.
Its simple, contemporary design is versatile enough to use in a wide variety of environments – indoor and oudoor, commercial or residential.
Span products can be configured to work as one large setting, or can be divided to function as smaller arrangements, giving end-users plenty of flexibility.
Whatever the weather, Blok’s Blokout range offers durable design for the great outdoors unlike any other manufacturer.
