Standards Australia’s Australian International Design Awards recognises the best industry and student design in Australia and internationally.

Professional designers are rewarded through eight industry categories and student designers are recognised through the 2009 Australian Design Award – James Design Award, in partnership with Dyson Appliances (Australia).

In 2009, 73 products are finalists in the industry categories of Consumer, Business & Technology, Sport & Leisure, Architectural & Interior Products, Automotive & Transport, Medical & Scientific, Heavy Machinery, and House & Building. Entry is open to products designed in Australia or overseas, but available for sale in Australia.
