As well as offering a wealth of international and local experience, Plot Studio understand the importance of building relationships with their clients.
Plot Studio, a boutique design and interiors practice based in Sydney, was established by Garvan O’Gara and Amy Cadwallader in 2008. The duo have over twenty years combined experience working for Architecture and Interior firms; O’Gara in his native Ireland and Sydney, Cadwallader in London and Sydney.

The success of their vibrant, creative company is down to the pair having compatible, dovetailing strengths, as O’Gara explicates. “I look after the technical construction detailing and dealing with the councils and Amy is more focused on the design and interior architecture. So a client gets both those skill-sets from the beginning, which means it’s quite a holistic design process and decisions are made in the context of the greater project.”

“Something that our clients seem happy with is that most of the critical design meetings are with both Amy and me. They are getting the big end of town level of experience, but from a small practice. We’re always on the end of the phone and we try to build relationships, so that it’s a collaborative process,” says O’Gara.

Plot’s impressive portfolio includes Living Edge showrooms in both Sydney and Melbourne, while briefs on two Bronte houses are in progress.Plot is also helping Victoria’s Cosmopolitan Hotel & Stables “rise from the ashes” of a 2005 fire.

“We’re free and open with our ideas,” O’Gara says of Plot’s creative practices. “If you can illustrate an opportunity that your client would never have thought of, then that sparks their imagination, their enthusiasm and their excitement. Then there’s a trust established about your advice and your decisions and it’s clear that your best interests are also for the best interests of the project.”
