miX Dubai is a world-class hotel in the crescent of Palm Jumerirah, housed in the beautiful Emerald Palace Kempinski. The launch of the miX Restaurant – the result of a collaboration between chef Alan Ducasse and Manuel Clavel of Clavel Arquitectos – see the venue house over four hundred guests in a design that honours the surrounding beauty, and lavish meals prepared inside.

Conceived as a contemporary homage to traditional Islamic Mocárabe (a form of ornamented vaulting in Islamic architecture), it’s impossible to not feel awe at the futuristic style of miX. The centrepiece of the restaurant takes the form of an oversized, 20 metre-high golden egg that appears suspended within a grand, central dome.

The miX bar, lounge and terraces offer different experiences for guests, where they can dine on fine tapas, raise a toast to the picturesque Dubai skyline, and appreciate the refined atmosphere of the design.

For the miX Restaurant, the furnishings were required to be as on pointe as the décor and contemporary Italian furniture brand, Pedrali, knew what was needed. Drawing from its Ester, Vic and Laja collection, refined pieces in soft shades help to paint a stylish yet neutral backdrop to the true art of chef Ducasse’s creations.

Ester armchairs and stools from Pedrali collaborator and designer Patrick Jouin furnish the dining and lounge areas.

In beige leather and characterised by elegance, ergonomics and functionality, the soft shape of the chairs are a perfect and comfortable place to rest and take in the art of the space, and the masterful cuisine.

Vic stools, designed by Patrick Norguet, offer optimal comfort thanks to a generously sized upholstered seat, yet convey a feeling of lightness by the back that lifts from the seat.

Available with legs in solid ash wood or steel tube with upholstery in a uniform or mix of leather or fabric, Vic makes for an elegant addition to the restaurant.

Rounding out the Pedrali furnishings in the miX Restaurant are the Laja armchairs. Designed by Alessandro Busana, Laja is an armchair designed with a firm steel structure, and welcoming, comfortable elastic supported foam base.

Available in a range of colours and different legs, Laja is a clear winner when it comes to lounge areas as elegant and refined as the miX Restaurant.
