We’re pleased to announce the 4 finalists in the Big River re:new Timber to Tokyo competition.
June 3rd, 2011
There was a huge response to Big River’s re:new ’Timber to Tokyo’ competition, with some outstanding entries from across Australia.
The panel of judges had such a hard time separating the entries, they actually decided to award 4 finalist places instead of 3.
The finalists are:
Nicholas Karlovasitis and Sarah Gibson
The designs range from furniture and storage to innovative lighting, with names such as ’Fractal Series’ and ’Lunar’. You’ll be able to see all the creations using Big River timbers in the exhibition at Coco Republic Design Centre during Saturday in Design Sydney, with the winner announced on Saturday 20 August at 2pm.
With all 4 designs prototyped, the final round of judging will take place and the winner will be announced on the Saturday.
The competition asked designers to submit designs that used at least 75% Big River ArmourPanel and/or ArmourFloor products, and each entry had to address the concept of ’re:new’.
