You can snap up 1 of 10 double passes to the Tiger Translate exclusive party

November 5th, 2010

The Tiger Translate 2010 Global Showcase is being held in Australia for the second time, culminating with an exclusive party at a secret Melbourne venue on November 28.

The Tiger Translate competition is a Tiger Beer initiative, which fosters local creativity and offers artists a platform to engage in a creative dialogue.

The top submissions will be exhibited at the showcase where the ‘King of the Urban Jungle’ will be announced.

Last year, Ian Mutch was awarded ‘King of the Urban Jungle’ for his piece, which responded to the 2009 theme ‘Change’. His ink illustration depicted a number of discreetly placed east meets west icons including animals, food, products and characters.

“I like making random comments on the state of the world and how people and cultures interact with one another,” says Mutch.

“The theme last year was Change, so it made sense to me to juxtapose war and destruction with partying and good times. Most of us want to see that sort of change.”

This year’s winner will be flown overseas to showcase their work and further collaborate with renowned international artists, just as Mutch had the opportunity to do last year:

“Something like this is great for the resume. It’s good exposure and motivation to keep painting,” says Mutch.

Indesignlive and Tiger are giving you the chance to mingle with the country’s most influential artists, designers, photographers and fashionistas at Tiger Translate’s exclusive invite-only event. International music acts, live street artists…and of course icy-cold Tiger Beer will top off the night!

If you live in Melbourne you could win one of 10 double passes. Simply fill in your details below and tell us why you’d like to come. The most creative answers will win.
