Celebrating its 10th year, Reece’s Bathroom Innovation Award (BIA) is back in 2015 and bigger than ever. Ahead of this year’s search for the most innovative new products, the judging line-up has been announced and is the most impressive yet.
March 18th, 2015
With judges hailing from all corners of the design world, a notable collection of local and international personalities have been assembled to decide the best submissions for this year’s brief – an innovative tapware design for the contemporary bathroom environment.
There are some familiar faces in returning judges Roberto Palomba (Global Architect and Designer), Shaynna Blaze (Interior Designer and media personality), Josep Congost (Design Director of Roca Design Center & Innovation Lab) and Justin Wagemakers (senior designer of Blue Sky Design Group and two-time winner of the BIA).
Rounding out the panel for 2015 are four new judges – Lorenzo Logi (Assistant Editor, Indesign Magazine), Amanda Stanaway (Principal of Woods Bagot), James Harper (Principal of Brooking Harper) and Daniel dalla Riva (Founder of 6Hats).
All eight of this year’s judges are global industry leaders, perfectly poised to decide the most innovative minds in bathroom design. The panel will be looking at innovation in its many forms – from aesthetic, functional or sustainable to the type of material used or level of technological integration.
Prizes this year for the professional winner includes $10,000 cash and their design prototyped by Italy’s largest tapware manufacturer, Nobili. The student winner will receive $5000 and a two week internship at Roca in Spain. Entries are now open and competition closes on 1 June.
