As 2017 draws to a close, now is the time when people start reflecting on the year that was. We thought it was a good time as any to find out which projects you couldn’t get enough of in 2017, and it’s workplace, workplace, workplace with a little Milan Salone installation thrown in for good measure.

In no particular order…

UBT Sydney by Unispace

Taking inspiration from high-end domestic and hospitality, the new workplace for UBT Sydney feels comfortable while still offering seamless technology integrations.

In addition, a fully catered café has been integrated, which offers lunch for clients, staff and guests each day.

Savills Sydney by Futurespace

Commercial real estate agents Savills has moved into a new home, which has been developed around Activity Based Working (ABW) methods.

The workplace fitout is clean and modern, pushing the boundaries of personal space to encourage community and collaborative working.

Unispace’s own fitout

Hitting the list more than once, Unispace’s own office fitout is an exemplar of agile, fluid workplace design.

On arrival, clients and staff walk out of the lift straight into the communal kitchen, a deliberate move that throws people into the heart of the office.

Deloitte Perth by Geyer

The Perth outpost of Deloitte wanted to bring its playful culture into the workplace, something that Geyer delivered in spades.

Curving and organic forms are preferenced, as are spaces for collaboration and focus, along with artfully curated zones for creative collisions.

The best installations from Milan

Increasingly converging art, design and commerce, the Milan Salone is a melting pot of inspiration – the installations being a highlight for many attendees.

From Patricia Urquiola’s installation for 3M to a dreamy pink daybed, there were plenty of things to inspire and make you think.
