As part of Sydney Design 08 the Time Capsule Exhibition aims to capture a snapshot of the design of today.
August 22nd, 2008
The seven Australian designers taking part in the Time Capsule exhibition were asked to respond to an unusual brief. They were presented with the concept that the works they created would be placed in a time capsule to be opened in 150 years time.
The designs would need to “tell the future how things are done today”. The objects could be anything that represents us, as people, today or just something the designers thought should be immortalised.
Invited by Beautiful on the Inside, the designers – Henry Wilson, Matthew Conway, Arthur Koutoulas, Keith Melbourne, Babak Aryaie, Lana Alsamir-Diamond and Christopher Earl Milbourne – created very different designs to capture their understanding of the design of today.
The exhibition will run until 30 August at the Beautiful on the Inside design store in Surry Hills as part of Sydney Design 08.
