Experiences in the Italian city inspire etchings
November 16th, 2007
An exhibition in Victoria will launch the limited edition prints of four Australian artists, created during a workshop held in Venice earlier this year.
The Australian Print Workshop (APW) invited leading Australian artists Rick Amor, Jon Cattapan, Jan Senbergs and Louise Weaver to produce a suite of prints inspired by the ‘city of lagoons’.
The large body of work resulting from the unique artists-in-residency project was created at the Venice Printmaking Studio over three weeks in June, coinciding with the Venice Biennale.
The exhibition, titled “Fondamenti Nove”, will take place at the Australian Print Workshop Gallery in Fitzroy, Victoria from 24 November 2007 – 2 February 2008.
