For over 50 years now, the Australian International Design Awards (AIDA) have sought out the best in Australian and international design and innovation.
AIDA rewards creative excellence and plays a significant role in promoting professional design both locally and overseas, putting products through a rigorous process of testing and experimentation to recognise design that is forward-thinking and positively impacts our daily lives.
Last year’s Awards attracted a record 325 entries across 9 categories – Consumer, Housing and Building, Heavy Machinery, Architectural and Interior, Business and Technology, Medical and Scientific, Automotive and Transport, Sporting and Leisure and Student Design.

The products acknowledged with a Design Award or a Good Design mark provided a snapshot of the quality of today’s industrial design – and the direction in which it’s heading.

This year, AIDA custodians Good Design Australia have introduced a new category to the program, Service Design, in recognition of the expanding role of professional design in the service sector.
Entry to the 2012 Australian Design Awards is now open and closes on Friday 30 March.
