The Rydges Sails Resort in Port Macquarie has recently undergone a massive refurbishment. Now complete, the question of security arises. Enter, Australian Trellis Door Company.
A major part of the multi-million dollar refurbishment of the Port Macquarie Rydges Sails Resort was the bar. A place to relax and enjoy the beautiful oceanfront views, as well as have a cool cocktail on a hot day, the bar was central to the resort’s new look. But how to keep it secure when closed?
The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) had the solution, installing an attractive curved counter top security screen along the length of the bar. This would keep the area secure when out-of-use, but not serve as an intrusive eyesore during operation.
The specifying architects on the project, Hamilton Hayes Henderson, and the project managers at Lipman selected the S08 curved security screen from ATDC’s extensive range of security solutions.
The curved security screen turned out to be the ideal product for this particular security challenge. As the counter top had virtually ‘zero’ headroom to install overhead screens, and the need to accommodate a tight curved radius made this a tricky installation, the S08 curved security screen proved to be the best way forward. The ability to achieve tight turns of 90 degrees over a 600mm radius was an important feature that the project needed.
For the Rydges Sails Resort an important feature of the security installation was the multiple intermediate up/down locking mechanisms on the S08. The result is a seamless lock-up system that is virtually invisible and achieves the security needed for the bar, without the need for unattractive floor tracking.
The S08 features heavy duty industrial grade top wheels and strong top hangars to ensure low friction, and smooth, easy movement when opening and closing the bar. These also help in retaining the longevity and functional integrity of the door for years to come.
While the standard stock finishes for this screen are either a black satin or pearl white powdercoat, ATDC also offers a special powdercoated finish – as was done with this screen – in a high gloss Dulux Venerable Silver.
Employed within projects across Australia and South East Asia, ATDC’s security solutions are the easy, safe and stylish way to protect a business. Working with architects and designers, ATDC is the premier expert in safety solutions for projects where security could be an issue. For Rydges Sails Resort, the team can rest easy knowing the only issue they’ll face is the risk of bad weather.
