Pedrali put its best foot forward with its latest collection of modern office furniture at one of the commercial design industry’s most popular design fairs.
July 18th, 2019
The 51st edition of NeoCon, Chicago held between 10-12 June was the melting pot of innovative ideas and products for public spaces. Among the more prominent brands showcasing there, Pedrali succeeded in creating quite a stir. Renowned for its creative and versatile approach with public space furniture, Pedrali showcased a series of chairs, tables and other complements suited for contemporary office spaces of today. The products were displayed through a series of five flexible and versatile workspace settings.
Here are some of the latest designs that Pedrali showcased at the fair.
Blending the expertise of contemporary office furniture designers Claudio Bellini with the engineering prowess of Pedrali, Elinor is a multitasking chair that works to align with the modern office’s requirements for comfortable yet visually appealing workplace seating. The chair comes with curved lines and a synchro-tilt mechanism that allows the chair’s tilting to be self-regulated according to the user’s body weight. This ensures the user’s back is not strained and maintains a comfortable position through the day.
Designed by Jorge Pensi, the Temps executive chair works to integrate seamlessly into a range of working environments like offices, multi-purpose spaces or even homes. The ergonomic chair comes with a height-adjustable base and synchro-tilt mechanism. What’s more, its anatomical shape ensures good posture. The user is made to feel cosy, and comfortable thanks to the polyurethane injected foam padding on the seat and backrest. Two lightweight and minimalistic arms lend a more dynamic appeal to the design.
An exciting revelation at NeoCon was the Ypsilon tilting table. Jorge Pensi’s Ypsilon table now has a tilting and stackable variant. Ideal for flexible, temporary workspaces, meeting rooms, the product can be moved and stored away when not in use. Interestingly, the table can also double up as a workstation or a meeting table in a co-working space. What’s great about the Ypsilon tilting table is that comes with a unique patented Pedrali mechanism, allowing the top to be flipped and moved from horizontal to a vertical position. This is achieved through two release handles in red colour. What’s more, when in use, the top is locked in place, so there no room for opening by error, ensuring maximum security for the user. The design also helps save space; Ypsilon can be stacked frontally with its top perpendicular to the floor.
Developed by Pedrali R&D, the Arki table is both flexible and functional and now comes with a brand-new height-adjustable top. Its adaptable design ensures the table can meet the multiple needs of a smart and dynamic office. The table’s height can be adjusted from 740mm-1140mm thanks to two electric actuators connected to a control unit and activated by two buttons placed under the top. This ensures maximum comfort for those working. The top is composed of solid laminate, and the table is available in white and black variants. Also available is a version with one button activated through a mobile app, which allows to memorise three different heights of the top.
Pedrali has refreshed the Buddy collection to make it more versatile and functional for the workspace. The collection is characterised by bold volumes of seats in combination with slender and lightweight frames. Designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, Buddy is composed of a chair, a two-seat bench, a chaise lounge with generous and comfortable backrests as well as softly-upholstered poufs, creating a family of soft modular seats. Poufs can be arranged in different combinations to align with the varied needs of contemporary spaces, such as airport lounges or co-working spaces. A turning tablet can also be added to the configuration.
Boxie is a new-age storage system on wheels that allows for easy, fun and optimal organising. Developed by Claudio Dondoli-Marco Pocci, the design is both minimalistic and lightweight. Boxie is akin to an elegant interior accessory with rounded corners framing its square-shaped form. What’s more, the product is easy to disassemble and recycle and can also be configured in many ways. Available in a range of colours and with fixed feet, Boxie is ideal for integrating into the new-generation offices, open spaces as well as co-working hubs.
Ray coat hanger is an effortless coming together of beauty and functionality. The flowing lines of the design help accentuate the beauty of the ash wood, while its overall functionality makes it a valuable part of a variety of interior spaces. Ray has been designed by Pio e Tito Toso and draws inspiration from nature, evident from the arms of the stand that look like tree fronds. Interestingly, Ray uses raw materials sourced from certified forests while their water-based paints are made principally from plant-derived resins.
Also appearing at NeoCon was the Ester armchair. The design celebrates the perfect coming together of elegance, functionality and ergonomics, making it a fitting addition to a variety of public spaces. Designer Patrick Jouin has paid particular attention to detail. The result is an exquisite product composed of leather complemented by refined die-casted aluminium legs.
The Vic armchair has been designed by Patrick Norguet. In that, the backrest is slightly detached from the seat, tying to the frame only at the ends. The opening at the back succeeds in lending the armchair with a sense of lightness while also enabling secure handling. The legs are available in solid ash wood or steel, while the seat and backrest can be upholstered with leather or fabric. Overall, the collection includes chair, armchair and stools in two different heights.
A sound absorbing panel for walls and ceilings makes for a functional and practical addition to any workspace. Case in point: Snooze designed by Marcello Ziliani, which not only helps improve the acoustic quality of a space, it also makes rooms more stimulating with its wide range of fabrics. Composed of hot-moulded polyester fibre, Snooze facilitates quick assembly and installation, furthermore guaranteeing flexibility, easy maintenance and customisation in fabric and colour choices. When placed side by side in different combinations, the panels also ensure better sound absorption.
The Babila armchair designed by Odo Fioravanti is inspired by classic and timeless objects. The product was displayed in the middle of the exhibition space at NeoCon to showcase a waiting or relaxation area, even an informal meeting area.
The Babila Table is composed of solid ash wood legs in combination with an ultra-thin solid laminate top and supported by an extruded aluminium frame. Ideal for meeting rooms, the Babila table provides a fitting response to the needs of modern offices of today.
