That which is designed with care and curated with loving attention offers a wellspring of inspiration and creativity. This is something that has always inspired the Corian® team. We know the level of delight, inspiration and support that good design lends to our day-to-day. It is this understanding of the intimacy of design – the weight of a fork in one’s hand, the throw of light as we switch on our bedside lamp each evening – that inspired the latest collaboration with multi award winning designer Mark Gacesa to create the new Corian® Ultraplane.
Mark is Ultraspace’s creative director and his new Ultraplane creation is the most recent addition to the suite of Corian® bathroom solutions for the commercial and residential sectors. Conceived around the recognition of these intimate encounters with design, the Corian® Ultraplane seeks to elevate such moments, offering end users a technical surface that reflects the synthesis of form and function.
The Ultraplane has an 80-degree aspect ratio that allows the basin to angle from ground or wall, bringing an oasis of wellness and refinement irrespective of any spatial constraints.
“The unconventional manner in which the vessel leans forward away from the wall, coupled with the actual waterplane slanting backward – creates an illusion that the main surface is level – which shouldn’t work – but of course it does!”
An integrated LED lighting system that allows the waterplane section to illuminate substantially elevates its design identity. Adding value back into design freedom, expanding the possibilities for sculptural and expressive design no matter the space restraints.
“Luxuriously fitting into any high-end residential bathroom, the LED lighting can be customised to illuminate the Ultraplane in any colour desired.”
Like the rest of the Corian® bathroom portfolio, the Ultraplane harnesses the technical and aesthetic aspects of the Corian® high-tech solid surface, offering a solution that does not compromise on strong, sculptural design possibilities or the kind of endurance and convenience required of high-traffic washbasins.
“Ultraplane is the epitome of a surface mounted flexible vessel that can fit into any tight space. ”
Water spills from a small gap at the back of the vessel to emphasise the appealing design features of the basin for a visually and spatially neater and more seamless solution. All systems (like pipes and plumbing) are contained within the Ultraplane. It’s versatile and will suit anything from restaurant and bars to smaller residential bathrooms.
“The stylish minimal design allows water to escape without drawing attention to a distracting typical waste point.”
Unconventional yet stylish and quirky with a powerful presence, the angles create an illusion that the water is escaping from a level plane. The clean lines and elegant shallow surface of the Ultraplane offers a striking and luxurious alternative to a standard wall basin or floor pedestal – a sophisticated feature for any modern bathroom, powder room or washroom.
