Integrated technology, social media, mobile working, disruption, Generation Viz v Baby Boomers, wellbeing through biophila – It’s all possible in the workplace 3.0! But with exciting innovation comes the challenge of augmentation – not to mention actually keeping up with new movements, research, ideas and products before figuring out how to be implement them!

You don’t want to be left behind, do you? Not to worry –we’ve got you covered! This August, Sydney Indesign sees the return of the hugely popular, CPD Accredited WorkLife Series to keep you in the know. Featuring the design industry’s most exceptional workplace thinkers and practitioners, we will be unravelling the issues we face in the post, post-modern workplace sector – and how A+D can navigate the fads from the fixtures.

WorkLife is a series of panel discussions among industry experts and global thought leaders exploring ‘The Future of the Workplace’, hosted in showrooms and with an emphasis on translating insights to the local market.

Our SID visitors will once again see a range of global design trailblazers, thought-leaders and brands to share their knowledge, experience and journeys with you. The talks will be hosted by members of the Indesign editorial team also showcasing prominent members of the design community. WorkLife will take place on Friday 11 August. Architects, designers, developers, builders, end users and more are in for a real treat!

All WorkLife seminars will be ticketed events, with substantial discounts applying to members of key organisations in the architecture, design, property and construction sectors. Ticket holders will receive 1 X CPD point towards their professional accreditation.

The WorkLife Series at SID17 is proudly brought to you by Flokk (formerly, Scandinavian Business Seating). All of us at Team SID17 wish to thank Flokk for helping push the global A+D world forward, sharing our combined insights and enriching the culture of contemporary design in all of its facets.

It’s exactly this openness to embracing cutting-edge design thinking that prompted the reinvention of Scandinavian Business Seating as Flokk. The word (which is Norwegian for ‘herd’) is synonymous with a group that’s defined by a common idea or goal. It’s about being part of something greater than yourself, while fulfilling your own personality and identity.

Says Lars Ivar Røiri, CEO of Flokk: “Our business has grown and evolved significantly over the past decade, we’ve welcomed new brands into our family and established showrooms and offices in fifteen countries. As we continue to expand we see from customer demand that we have an opportunity to redefine our role as enabler of leading, high quality brands in the market.”

“Our goal is to create designs that have positive effects on health, are sustainable and beautiful,” says Christian Lodgaard, Senior Vice President, Products and Brands at Flokk. He continues, “The phrase ‘deep design thinking’ epitomises how we work, caring sincerely about people and the world we live in.”
