In a major coup for authentic Australian design, Luxxbox has taken out a number of awards at NeoCon 2019, the world’s leading trade show event for the commercial design industry.
Making its NeoCon debut this year, Luxxbox showcased a number of new products from its extensive acoustic lighting and furniture ranges including Blade and Waffle Discs, and Leaves.
“NeoCon, held annually at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago, attracts more than 51,000 visitors over three days. This year’s event was an important opportunity for us to introduce new products to an international audience and receive critical feedback from peers and clients,” says Luxxbox Managing Director, Jason Bird.
“The trade show marked a significant milestone for Luxxbox as we continue to expand into the North American market, providing holistic acoustic solutions to designers around the world.”
Running in conjunction with the event are a number of internationally-recognised awards in which the Australian design studio was nominated. Luxxbox’s latest noise-cancelling acoustic light, Blade, was awarded 2019 Honoree in Interior Design magazine’s HiP Awards, as well as Editor’s Choice and Grand Prize in BUILDINGS Product Innovation awards.
Receiving critical acclaim from the jury, Luxxbox also walked away with Silver for Acoustic Solutions in the Best of NeoCon Awards, with judges praising the depth of the acoustic lighting range, Casambi Bluetooth dimming integration and environmental-sustainability practices employed by Luxxbox.
“We strive to ensure our products combine unique manufacturing techniques and unconventional materials, with thought-provoking design integrity that champion authentic Australian design on a global scale. This aesthetic is recognised by design enthusiasts and professionals the world over,” says Bird.
The Blade acoustic pendant light, one of Luxxbox’s premium acoustic lighting solutions, reduces up to 80 per cent of reverberated noise in open spaces for increased comfort and concentration. Created from a minimum of 65 per cent recycled material, Blade’s ultra-sleek profile features 18mm thick acoustic material for effective acoustic management without sacrificing functional illumination.
Waffle Acoustic Discs and Leaves are a playful, yet effective means of noise-management for open spaces. Available in different shapes – Discs and Leaves – Waffles can be free-standing or wall-mounted with or without backlighting. Offering unique visual appeal while reducing reverberations, Waffles create a more comfortable work environment for greater productivity.
All acoustic products are designed and manufactured in Australia by Luxxbox, allowing for short lead times, greater customisation and exceptionally high quality.
