{small} Bytes of Happiness is a bite-sized wellness series from Haworth designed to nourish and revive the mind and body.
July 14th, 2020
We all know and love the Market Day + Haworth wellness events but {small} bytes of happiness is a new sibling event series designed to offer access to all – regardless of place and location – and benefit the community.
Aptly named, {small} bytes are short, 30-minute digital events that are designed to be easy and manageable additions to your calendar. Guests and attendees are encouraged to pop in, connect to your inner self and others, and return to you work day feeling refreshed and reenergised.
{small} bytes of happiness is a series of three, mid-week sessions available either in the morning or during lunchtime.
The first session, Meditation with Luke McLeod, takes place Wednesday 15 July at 8h30am or 12h30pm. Luke has been meditating for 11 years and teaching it for four. “I remember an article in a business publication that did a study on high performers across all fields, business, sport, etc, and one of the most common exercises that they found in these people was that they practiced meditation,” says Luke.
Not long after he decided to give it a go, Luke noticed in himself an ability to focus for longer, decreased procrastination, and an increase in confidence. He ultimately moved to India for several months taking studies at the Tushita Meditation Centre in McLeod Ganj where the Dalai Lama is a spiritual guide.
Now, he has partnered with Haworth for the Small Bytes of Happiness series, sharing his learning and the benefits he has noticed personally. “With all the uncertainty, change and pressure in the world right now, meditation can be a great resource to help you navigate through it all. It is a wonderful way to reset your mind and recharge yourself,” he says.
