Presented by Tilt Industrial Design
January 29th, 2022
These are fascinating times for façade innovation. Technological developments in design capability combined with materials and manufacturing breakthroughs have redefined what is possible in terms of façade delivery. However, at the same time, architects seeking to take advantage of these changes continue to face a broad range of challenges in bringing their ideas to fruition.
Increased transfer of risk in design to builders through Design & Construct contracts, and ever-increasing environmental compliance obligations are good examples. Whether through the evolution of commercial models over time or through positive responses to our changing environment, these factors are having the unintended consequence of making life more challenging for innovators, particularly in terms of façade design.
How are architects to navigate these challenges? How can they give themselves the best shot at producing work that delivers on design ambition, but also ticks all the boxes in terms durability, compliance, and sustainability? This session addresses these questions and more.
