One Central Park’s living walls is the largest green façade ever undertaken on a residential tower in Australia, with almost fifty per cent of the building covered in greenery.
February 17th, 2015
Located in Sydney and designed around the concept of fluidity, the building boasts a five-star green star by the Green Building Council of Australia, with key features including a magnificent skin of vines and cascading plants, an internal water recycling unit and a low carbon tri-generation power plant.
The 202020 Vision partner project was recently the recipient of the 2014 Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture’s Award for Design in Landscape Architecture and expertly amalgamates green space with innovative urban design.
Designed for minimum maintenance, the project has added an impressive 1,200m2 to the 202020 Vision, a collaborative initiative to see a twenty per cent increase in urban green space by 2020.
Uniting form and function, One Central Park is set to aid in the management of urban heat and pollution, as well as boosting the aesthetics of the area with its lush walls alive with colour, texture and shape.
Collaborators on the project include: Junglefy, Sekisui House Australia, Aspect Studies, Oculus and Patrick Blanc.
