New venue, The Silk Road is set to bring a sense of elegance and opulence to the Melbourne club scene.
Refurbished by Woods Bagot from a heritage-listed building, the club is thick with history and beauty. Featuring eight unique bars across three levels, it is large in size without skimping on the detail. From crystal chandeliers, to venetian blinds, classical portraiture and marble statues, the venue has an aura of luxury not often seen in contemporary design.
Marble used throughout the club was sourced from Australian company Amalgamated Marble. Bar counters in parts of the venue were rescued and restored from the original building, with the effect of intertwining the history of the building and the experience of the club.
Woods Bagot managed to create a multitude of different atmospheres within the space, from an easy dining atmosphere to a sultry bar space.
The club features several kitchens across its three floors, serving sushi, light meals, Mediterranean food and teppanyaki. With split floors, intriguing lighting design and balconies overlooking the lower levels, Woods Bagot have turned a heritage site into a modern hotspot.
