Shaken, Not Stirred

Shaken, Not Stirred

Brisbane's new Port Office Hotel by Phorm Interiors brings a little MI6 to the sunshine state.

You will feel like James Bond sipping a dry martini in the transformed Port Office Hotel (circa 1868) in Brisbane, redesigned by Phorm Interiors.

Blending classic brasseries, in the style of the Gentleman’s club of 1930s Paris and London, with contemporary warm interiors, Ian Wrightson and Steven Stewart of Phorm have created an elegant space for the beautiful young things of Brisbane, rousing the glamorous international spy within all of us.

A striking mix of whimsical and dramatic textures, colours and features, Phorm’s design incorporates Art Deco styling with gold feature partitions in the upstairs Liber Lounge. The custom made intricate motifs inspired by Persian design allow for subtle shadows and intriguing glances to shine through.

The luxurious dark wood interiors of the Fix Restaurant, on the ground floor expose an opulent metallic bronze feature wall, melting into the chocolate leather banquettes.

The Port Office Hotel strikes a balance between the graces of the old building and the elegant culture of drinking with contemporary design features. Philippe Starck ‘K-Tribe’ lights and modern line and forms bring the classic furnishings into a modern environment.
