The finalists of the 2009 Queensland Design on Show (qdos) awards have been announced. Organised by the Design Institute of Australia (DIA), the awards recognise a range of design professionals, firms and students, from interior design to visual communication design and three-dimensional design.
This year the finalists in the Interior design category include the 100 Creek Street project by Geyer, the Virgin Blue Sydney Business Lounge by Cottee Parker and HASSELL for their own studio in Fortitude Valley.
Urban Art Project have been awarded for two projects Northshore Hamilton Riverside Park and 53 Albert Street also in Built Environment Collaboration category, while designer, Jason Bird of OBJX, has four finalist entries in 3D design’s Furniture and Luminaire categories.
Winners will be announced at a cocktail event on 2 October. The finalists are being featured in a public exhibition, now until 25 October 2009, at the QUT Art Museum.
