Woods Bagot have been awarded the BPN Sustainability Award for an Office Fit-Out, 2012

This remarkable multi-storey project sits high in the Harry Seidler designed MLC Centre in Sydney’s CBD, home to Property Trust: GPT Group.
Setting a new benchmark in sustainable design, the tenancy sits across 3600 sqm, but as this represents only a small portion of the overall NLA in the design team faced the considerable challenge of creating a ’green infrastructure to support a small tenancy” and reworking the existing building services.
GPT’s part in the efficacy and continuation of the project’s sustainable story, is that the firm has adopted an alternate working environment that plays out in the holistic design and layout of the office and task areas to minimize ongoing environmental impact.
Themselves developers of sustainable real estate projects, GPT’s ambition was to reinforce their green philosophy at the very core of their operations.
A renewed sustainable approach to space, systems, processes and resource now sees only 270 desks supplied for 320 staff members. The flow-on being that the firm now consumes 75% less paper, stores 90% less paper, overall there is 50% less energy use and lighting energy consumption, specifically, is down by 70%.
Impressive figures matched effortlessly by equally impressive, sophisticated design detailing.
