Out of a frustration with the internet, Karen and Rob Vosjan developed Domain Design- Australia’s newest visual online directory and portfolio of Architects and Designers.
May 7th, 2008
Domain Design has been created to provide the Aussie design profession with an interactive platform to display and search profiles of Architects, Interior Designers and Landscape Architects and Designers throughout the entire country.
A resource for both the public and industry, profiling residential and commercial design professionals and providing design news and information, Domain Design was conceptualised by co-founders Karen and Rob Vosjan.
"The idea originated with our own frustration at the inability of existing internet search functionality to deal with the rapidly expanding volume of information available on the internet", says Karen.
"When entering a generic search phrase and returning thousands if not millions of results, we were acutely aware that most of the 10,000 design companies in Australia would either be buried in the search result never to be found or not even be included in the search result."
Recognising that the design profession needed a tailored internet solution, Karen and Rob developed one.
"We want to alleviate designers of the time and cost burdens of undertaking their own advertising, marketing and web optimisation campaigns."
Domain Design is interactive. Designers load and manage their own content so their information can be constantly updated as their body of work evolves.
Domain Design will be undertaking a phased launch into selected global markets over the next 18 months. Starting with Australia, the business will subsequently establish itself in New Zealand, the UK, North American and European markets respectively.
