Created exclusively for Designer Rugs, six new rug designs from blueandbrown
March 7th, 2008
Heralding a new dimension for blueandbrown, their signature graphic style has been reinterpreted into a luxurious rug range with the Designer Rugs latest collection.
Building on its successful stable of collaborations with Australian designers, Designer Rugs together with Skye Vermeesch and Kirsten Brown from blueandbrown have created a contemporary range of rugs aimed at high end residential and commercial interiors.
Designed in blueandbrown Surry Hills studio, Sydney, each design reflects the duo’s fascination with form.
“Whether its scale, composition or colour, even though the designs are very bold, there is always a delicate balance at work,” says Skye Vermeesch.
“Designing the rugs, we had to think about how it is viewed and used. Rugs are viewed horizontally and are sometimes obscured by furniture – this is a new consideration for us. Now you get to walk on our designs… and feel them too”.
Since the company conception in 2002, blueandbrown has captured the attention of Australia’s interior design community with their bold, contemporary and quintessentially Australian designs.
The new collection is available in Designer Rugs showrooms nationally.
