Interior Design firm Geyer create cross-cultural design with the ICBC Australian offices.
May 27th, 2009
Interior design agency, Geyer, have just completed work on new Australian offices for the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
The new environment for ICBC, at 220 George Street Sydney, is part of a broad international expansion for the company.
The brief called for a space that would identify ICBC as an industry leader while acknowledging regional influences.
A distinctive design for the ground floor retails space, with its illuminated teller box and light, open, modern aesthetic, aims to echo the company’s values of transparency and openness.
This retail zone is accompanied by the corporate zone, across two levels, incorporating breakout areas for staff and clients and a gallery wall displaying ‘cultural gifts’ presented to the bank.
Geyer have also created unique intimate ‘club’ areas, responding to Feng Shui principles, designed for focussed discussions with international customers.
“The club area’s have an intimate ambience, created by warm lighting and a rich, textured approach to colours and finishes, which were selected for their cultural significance,” says Geyer’s Michelle Tarlinton.
