The team at Pepo Botanic Design take a transformative approach to this Randwick property, delivering a practical, lush solution to a family home.
July 1st, 2013
“This garden did have some beautiful qualities when we first arrived, however it was dark,” explains Nicola Cameron, Pepo founder.
Despite its size and inherent potential, the yard was overgrown and dim. The family living in the adjacent house were frustrated at how underutilised it was. Engaging the team at Pepo Botanic Design, their brief was to revive the space and extend the property’s liveability.
Nicola and her team of visual artists, landscape architects, horticulturists and food enthusiasts set about re-establishing some order; investing the garden with useful, family-friendly facilities that would be complemented by lush, low-maintenance planting.
“We kept the skeleton of the old garden and introduced an outdoor dining area, a lounging space and a timber sculpture.”
The result is an urban oasis that now plays a very active and practical role in the owners’ daily lives.
“Pepo has re-designed our garden with an emphasis on outdoor living. We now have a functional outdoor dining and entertaining space that we use well into a summer evening.”
