Australian High Speed Vehicle (A-HSV) is HASSELL’s response to debate surrounding environmental, economic and social issues and aims to change the way we travel.

The concept offers a future transport solution that is safe and fast, with low carbon emissions.

Travelling at 400km per hour, A-HSV would make the trip from Melbourne to Sydney in just under 3 hours.

The shape of the high-speed double decker train was inspired by the quintessentially Australian 1960s HK Monaro.

The concept proposes to reduce reliance on air and private vehicle travel and lower carbon emissions, provide shorter travel times to regional cities, reduce transport congestion, increase national productivity and open up housing choice and affordability.

Pipe dream or possibility? Do you think Australia can support a high-speed rail network?
