These modest Richmond-based designer/makers boast a contemporary range of wooden furnishings that are finding a loyal following with designers and consumers alike.

Described paradoxically as ‘antiques of the future’, the clean lines and expert use of American White Oak bring a sense of depth and warmth to the pieces. Zuster consciously step away from current trends instead allowing details and aesthetics that they enjoy, to shine through.

Zuster’s elegant solid American Oak Sabrina Chair with leather seat and backrest celebrate the grain of timber with a contemporary form and exquisite detailing in construction. Zuster Hooks in solid American Oak are part of the company’s new handcrafted Home collection, conceived as functional 3D wall art. Marrying practicality with ornamentation.

Jade lamp tables in solid American Oak with a distinct cross-curved base are a signature piece in the Zuster range. Equally as popular is the beautifully detailed Sabrina coffee table in solid American Oak.

Zuster will be officially launching their new Surry Hills showroom in Sydney this August at Sydney Indesign: The Experience.  In addition to their showroom presence : Zuster, in conjunction with the American Hardwood Export Council, will be presenting a discussion on Australian design and American hardwoods; taking the material from source to final design.  The talk will “debunk misconceptions regarding the long term sustainability of hardwoods” and special guest Criswell Davis will share his knowledge on the vast range of American hardwood species and outline their suitability for different design applications.

This discussion with Zuster’s Fleur Sibbel will take place at the Indesign Podium at Galleria on Friday the 16th of August at 10am. Places are strictly limited, register now.
