Instyle’s soon to be released Atelier fabric collection is beautiful, soft and luxurious velvet.
June 27th, 2016
Historically, velvet has been synonymous with softness and luxury. Its completely distinctive smooth feeling is achieved through woven, tufted fabric in which the cut threads evenly distributed. Forgotten in the 1960’s in favour of more economical synthetics, velvets are now back in the spotlight, appearing within a host of contemporary interiors. Once revered as a sign of prosperity, and used only in the regal and upmarket residential domain, velvet is reappearing as a new hero in workplace and hospitality interiors worldwide.
Instyle’s soon to be released Atelier collection is a set of 41 velvet colours, from sunshine yellow, blush, soft orange and classic red. The collection’s name references a creative workshop or private studio for the decorative arts – a fitting title for the sumptuous, theatrical collection.
The soft touch and luminous face of Instyle’s Atelier is created through 100% polyester yarns. Bound tightly with a ground warp, the loops are then cut to give the resultant pile, which brings the product to life. Tones change with movement and upholstering detail reflecting the light differently to create a purely dynamic and luxurious upholstery.
