ONIX is the revolutionary new electroplated matte black finish.
December 16th, 2014
Developed using advanced technology, it’s a finish that ensures high quality and durability. The electroplated finishes involve electrical current processes to form a coherent metal coating, where electroplating essentially changes the existing surface properties of an object, to which layers are added to increase abrasion and wear resistance.
In all, ONIX plated products have 5 layers of coating making it ideal for use in tapware. In contrast, powder coating is a single barrier layer process, this means that the function of the powder coating covers the metal so corrosive elements can’t reach it. This process provides a substantial and tough finish perfect for accessories.
Subsequent to the consumer demand for a timeless and contemporary monochromatic palette of black and white, Phoenix is responding to this demand for taps as decorative pieces, no longer just functional items in bathrooms or kitchens, but statement stand-alones. Phoenix is founded on the principles of design, quality and customer service, and that is why Phoenix is committed to creating quality finishes that are both durable and stylish.
