Form + Function present a tearaway wallpaper concept.
February 17th, 2010
We’ve had modular flooring, which paved the way for designers to get creative with their flooring, but now walls are the latest territory being explored.
The residential and commercial worlds can now get ready for a trend that enables you to affordably transform your surroundings almost instantaneously, with a simple rip.
‘Tears Off’ Wallpaper, from Movisi, Germany, is developed by Latvian company, ZNAK (http://www.znak-life.com/), in collaboration with Dutch artist Aldo Kroese and Berlin designers Studio Hausen.
The innovative modular wallpaper concept is created with specially designed perforation.
The wallpaper is mounted in strips on the wall, and then shapes can be peeled away to reveal the wall underneath, which in itself becomes a significant element within the design.
A customised wall decoration can be quickly created and changed on a whim by peeling off piece from the painted wall.
The wallpaper is available in a palette of 11 colours, from deep autumnal reds through to ocean blue, to suit any style.
