Adaptable to an array of spaces, from cafes and terraces to intimate dining spaces, the Steelwood Chair is a radical assemblage, which fuses the traditional materials of steel and timber, to create seemingly simple but elegant design.

Unlike many of its plastic counterparts, designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have focused on ensuring the chair becomes more delicate with age and acquires a charming patina during its lifecycle.

The chair’s subtle shape was a manifestation of in-depth technological research which led to an elaboration of 10 successive stamping stages to achieve the final curvature.

Seats and legs available in natural or painted solid beech and seamlessly meld with frames produced from a steel plate coated in epoxy resin.

It’s durability and design promises that before long Steelwood chairs will find a place among other iconic furniture pieces.

The Steelwood Chair’s dimensions include a width of 550mm, 460mm depth, a seat height of 450mm and a 760mm total height.
