MAKING TREND ACCESSIBLE

Highly-textured concrete surfaces are all the rage right now. Concrete floors, walls, ceilings, benchtops; everything is concrete. But what do you do when you’re client doesn’t have the budget to pour meters and meters of concrete throughout the building? And even if they had the budget, chances are the building standards and sustainability requirements within the project spec will prevent you from doing so. So what’s the solution?

Woven Image have developed the answer with their recent additions to the EchoPanel Mura Wallcovering range for Spring 2015. Drawing inspiration from the art world – specifically, M.C Esher’s superrealist illusion, three-dimensional style –Hex, Cube and Pentagon imitate this dimensional element, giving the illusion of real, solid cement blocks.

With the trend factor now in place, Woven Image print these designs onto the highly-sustainable Mura wallcovering fabric. The vast majority of projects within Australia and Asia Pacific will have an environmental specification objective. Mura is a 1.9mm thick, 100% PET (60% post consumer recycled content) non-woven product, designed for GreenTag certification, low VOC’s and added acoustic benefits.

And aside from all of that, one of the other common problems with concrete features is that once it’s been poured – it ain’t moving. What happens when you want to change buildings or upgrade offices? Hex, Cube and Pentagon not only have a smooth surface with a textured backto make application easy (not to mention shorten your lead times), but the flexibility of the new Mura range means that the panels can be taken with you, resulting in a seamless wall-covering finish no matter your location.
