The dazzling ‘Diz’ chair shines in the Anibou showroom
November 30th, 2009
Anibou has been distributing iconic international designs in Australia since 1989 as well as representing the work of some exceptional local designers.
’¨Adding to its pedigree as one of the finest furniture stores around, the arrival of Sergio Rodrigues’ ‘Diz’ marks the Australian debut of an undisputed item of inspiring contemporary design.
’¨The extreme elegance of the 2002 ‘Diz’ armchair recalls the artistry of a sculptor, with soothing smooth edges handcrafted from solid eucalyptus, then stained and clear varnished.
’¨Comfort is key to the work of the Brazilian designer, who is best known for the ‘Poltrona Mole’ – a soft leather cushioned armchair with sturdy wooden frame, now in the permanent collection at New York’s MOMA.
Despite being entirely made of wood, the lounge chair is carefully moulded to fit the body’s form, making it as comfortable as it is aesthetically pleasing.
