Like all small businesses, Melbourne graphic design studio housemouse experienced humble beginnings – but harnessed the simple pleasures and accomplishments to their advantage.

Now 12 years down the track they have a CBD studio, talented team of designers and an award-winning magazine tucked firmly under their belt.

Raw and edgy in style, Fluoro gives readers a double-dose of design with industry content edited and designed by industry professionals. Its specialty lies in providing readers with an insight into the opinions and experiences of design passionate people.

Originally created for housemouse friends, clients and suppliers, Fluoro experienced early success winning Gold in the Magazine Cover category at the prestigious US Creativity Annual Awards.

For its fifth issue Fluoro has undergone a makeover and, to celebrate, has partnered up with Design Quarterly magazine’s DQ33 – April 2009 issue.

DQ’s editor, Alice Blackwood, said they were really pleased to have the publication on board.

“Everyone loves to discover new sources of information, especially when they reveal hidden talent, exciting projects and fresh ideas,” she said.

“With the culture of branding, identity and typography growing ever stronger, Fluoro really captures housemouse’s unique persona, their breadth of talent and creative skill.”

Readers can pick up DQ33 with Fluoro5 from 3 April. Readers can also subscribe to both by visiting designquarterly.com.au and fluoromag.com
