Eco²Xpress and Eco²Prime – Managing your power supply on the desk

Eco²Xpress and Eco²Prime

Millions of tons of CO² are wasted due to PCs and peripheral equipment being left on when the user is away from the workstation. It is possible to save up to 60% of the consumed electricity from a single workstation.

It couldn’t be simpler!

Leaving PCs and peripheral equipment switched on costs you and the environment.

Even a modern PC uses over $150 in electricity left on every night of the year. Multiply that by your PC population and you’re talking a lot of money.

DPG-Formfittings can offer a solution to reducing this wastage!

Eco²Xpress offers the ability to automatically control peripheral equipment used on a workstation. The system is hardware based so no software required, simply connect and save energy!

How it works

The desk PC/Laptop is plugged into a master socket which maintains an uninterrupted supply to the PC. All peripheral equipment such as LCD monitor, printer, task light, chargers etc are plugged into a number of slave outlets. When the PC/Laptop goes into sleep mode this changing threshold then isolates the peripheral sockets thereby saving the wasted energy.

As soon as a power consumption above the 4w level is detected the slave sockets will then re-activate, enabling peripheral equipment to energize once more.

Savings of up to $60 per year can be achieved by now isolating devices normally left on when the user is out of the office.

Eco²Xpress can be retrofitted to any environment.

Eco²Prime coming early 2010

When you need to see the energy savings that are being made – Eco²Prime is the answer. Network deployable, reporting & controlled centrally using a web based package. The software/hardware interface creates 2 savings modes.

How it works

First is to isolate the peripheral devices, ensuring that when you are away from your workstation the LCD monitor, printer, task light, chargers etc are completely isolated.

Second is to control the PC and to safely enable the power to be reduced from a standard consumption of around 75 – 150w to just 4w.

Both modes are activated via activity of the mouse and keyboard. The unique sensor is connected via a USB lead into the PC and set to monitor these signals.
