German designer Alexander Nettesheim is famous for creating distinctive experimental pieces. And the Confucius sofa designed exclusively for BRETZ is yet another example of Nettesheim’s extraordinary design prowess.

Confucius combines the opposites: straight elements are arranged in oblique angles to form an intriguing architectural seating sculpture, while the seat’s gaps and openings stand to create a unique aesthetic.

Confucius is a virtuous interaction of form, colour and perspective. Every element of the sofa can be upholstered in an individual material, colour and pattern, which can underline the angular appearance of the model. An enthusiast is encouraged to experiment – from the bizarre to the fashionable.

“Free variation creates creativity,” says designer Nettesheim, “it encourages interpreting things differently and to broaden one’s mind.”

The goal of Confucius is to guarantee an entire relaxation for body and soul.
